    What about battery life?

  5. @PMASPHX on October 26, 2024 at 10:19 pm

    No 120hz hard pass

  6. @trevapaul on October 26, 2024 at 10:23 pm

I think the 7 is a solid improvement if you’re upgrading from a 4 or 5th gen. They could’ve done a few more updates and kept the price point. While smartphones are peaking, there’s quite a bit they could have done. It’s definitely not JUST a copy and paste of the 6th gen, but definitely an S upgrade, not quite what I was expecting after a 3 year hiatus. Although, $500 in 2024 is not that same as $500 in 2021

90% of jelly scrolling is fixed in my opinion

Current trade-in value up to $230, so reduced upgrade cost to $269? With a three year old battery (wish the Settings Battery app had health indication), getting 8GB RAM over 4GB, 128GB storage over 64GB (currently using ~50GB) I’m still on the fence. IF Mini 7 supported App;e Pencil 2 non-USB-C I probably would jump. Thoughts Max?

  12. @kriss12loverap on October 26, 2024 at 10:30 pm

the 7 benchmark might improve with an update just saying, ive seen it before.

  13. @foodeeplays791 on October 26, 2024 at 10:30 pm

60hz is a deal breaker for an iPad that’s gonna be used for gaming. They could have atleast put 90hz on this mini. That’s sad. Better get the Ipad Air M2 2024. I have the mini 6 and with minimal upgrade, I don’t think it’s worth it

  14. @God_of_shiso. on October 26, 2024 at 10:31 pm

The CPU tests on your iPad mini 7 are the highest number so far

I have the iPad 10th gen 256gb, should I trade it in for a mini 7?

  18. @marksapollo on October 26, 2024 at 10:33 pm

Hmm not as big a performance difference as you’d expect it to have.

  19. @raymondtrippy3610 on October 26, 2024 at 10:33 pm

Excellent comparison, thank you much as I don’t own a mini and your video convinced me the 7 is the way to go. Thank you. 👍

  20. @Techreviewsandinformation-x7v on October 26, 2024 at 10:34 pm

They only doubled the storage bc they had to due to Apple intelligence

This Mini 7 release made me realise that my Mini 6 is still worth it and obviously future proof and will be my companion for another 3-4 years. 😊

  24. @justinyadao744 on October 26, 2024 at 10:38 pm

brother you didn’t go over battery life. battery life is mediocre for my mini 6.

  25. @MalcolmREBORN on October 26, 2024 at 10:38 pm

I didn’t even finish the video. When Apple gets this lazy, it affects even the interest level of tech pundits videos.

  26. @minlun1995 on October 26, 2024 at 10:41 pm

Go for mini 6, nothing is change just 5% they are robbing your money

  27. @paulharrison8379 on October 26, 2024 at 10:42 pm

Apple save money which they pass onto the customer when they manufacture a new device that is 95% identical to a device already in production. They updated the processor, RAM and flash memory in an iPhone 8, called it an iPhone SE 2 and sold it at a very attractive price. Now they have done the same with the iPad Mini 7 and have very unusually given the customer enough RAM and flash in their entry level device. This is the iPad that I would buy if I was in the market for an iPad.

  28. @halidagil8770 on October 26, 2024 at 10:43 pm

If the A17 Pro chip gets binned a GPU core and throttled performance, shouldn’t Apple ditch the “Pro” name? 🤔

  29. @andikunar7183 on October 26, 2024 at 10:44 pm

I really like the iPad mini. You did not test the – to me most important thing. Battery-life of the small mini is the most annoying/limiting thing for me, not jelly-scrolling,… Any improvement there with e.g reduced power-consumption of the new chip during regular use (e.g. surfing, youtube) would be a major improvement.

  30. @Cubano2031 on October 26, 2024 at 10:46 pm

I like it ! And is it included The Jelly scroll feature!

  31. @pawelgrund4540 on October 26, 2024 at 10:48 pm

really disappoining they didn’t solve the jelly scrolling issue. the ipad mini is becoming apples stepchild

  32. @toalpap9182 on October 26, 2024 at 10:48 pm

Pls kindly test DaVinci Resolve with new mini – thank you very much in advance 🙂

This should have been a 1 minute video that ends with a savage beat down of the consumer screwing approach of Apple….

  37. @jirennerij on October 26, 2024 at 10:53 pm

Would buy it if at least 90hz

  38. @carlostrewartha5565 on October 26, 2024 at 10:53 pm

iPad mini 7 should have been a M1 chip at least underclock.

  39. @marcoseirik on October 26, 2024 at 10:55 pm

I have the iPad mini 6, so there’s no reason for me to upgrade. Will definitely sit this one out. I was hoping for external display support, that would have been the only thing that could have got me to upgrade.

  40. @youngolf1 on October 26, 2024 at 10:58 pm

Stop hurting your organs with energy drink crappola…..and thanks for speaker testing

  41. @Honkytonkrob on October 26, 2024 at 10:59 pm

Upgrading from a 5th gen mini…should be a nice bump up.

  42. @dondonlinatoc29 on October 26, 2024 at 10:59 pm

No reason to upgrade its not m series processor

  43. @Regantdarcy on October 26, 2024 at 11:00 pm

Coming from an ipad mini 5, this is a HUGE upgrade for me. Even if i was coming from the mini 6, you get a much faster chip and double the ram. Plus depending on who you speak with Apple either totally fixed or greatly minimized the jelly scroll issue. Yeah, a pro motion display with face ID & thinner bezels & 1,000 nits of brightness woulda been nice… but it’s not the end of the world. I’m sure Apple will add those in the next update. But I’m not gonna wait another 3 yrs for that. I need to upgrade my ipad mini 5. I know you can pick up a mini 6 cheaper now, but as an artist, i really want Apple pencil pro support. Plus the 8 gigs of ram & faster chip will carry me thru the next 3 years until the ipad mini 8.

  44. @maxdezigner on October 26, 2024 at 11:00 pm

Without significant display update, it doesn’t worth updating. I’m sticking to my 6th gen.

  45. @TJDawgs72 on October 26, 2024 at 11:01 pm

I hear people on here constantly complaining about the jelly roll effect…I have tried to re-create that effect on my Mini 6 and I just can’t see it. I’m actually going to upgrade to the Mini 7, but only because I needed more hard drive space. Otherwise I wouldn’t waste the money upgrading. It’s a great secondary/travel iPad to my iPad Pro 12.9.

  46. @miguelalonsoperez5609 on October 26, 2024 at 11:03 pm

I cannot see the jelly scrolling on the right side, and also the ipad 7 has more low end on the inbuilt speakers.

Jelly scrolling is not subtle, think you’re a little suggested. Try to see that left half of the screen is moving slightly before than the right side and vice versa. What you can see on the mini 7 is just delay.

Is curious that Apple Watch Ultra 2 have same issue but only few people realized because the screen is too small

I can test it by myself tomorrow cause I’ve purchased one and have also the mini 6

  47. @feherberci on October 26, 2024 at 11:04 pm

Buying the cellular version is a waste of time. I bought and Android phone just for data. Same price but comes with a lot of advantages.

  48. @valdirtotal on October 26, 2024 at 11:04 pm

17 minutes video about the same product, impressive…. honestly, no one cares about benchmarks on an iPad mini.

  49. @ValValorium on October 26, 2024 at 11:07 pm

I’ve been using a mini 6 since it released, perfect form factor, only issue is that I frequently exceed it’s limit in freeform because it just does not have enough RAM, considering upgrading simply due to that. T-T

  50. @Lynderella on October 26, 2024 at 11:09 pm

Will the iPad Mini 6 get AI support in a future update? Or just on the 7?
